口腔微生物学免疫学に関する教育と研究を担当しています。将来の歯科界を担う歯科医師の養成を考えた場合に微生物免疫学に関する知識の修得は必要不可欠なものです。従来から、一貫して教育には大きな力を注いできました。講義内容は常に更新して時代の要請にあった内容で授業を展開しています。また、教室員の活発な研究活動が優れた教育をおこなうための条件であると考えて、微生物学免疫学の研究も精力的に進めています。その成果は、国際的な学術雑誌や国際学会などを通じて世界に向けて発信しています。
